Overview: This moderated panel discussion will address the downstream impacts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey sports wagering laws. Do your University employees and students have access to confidential information that could give them an unfair advantage if they used that knowledge to place sports bets? We will discuss the policies and procedures that universities should consider for both employees and students in light of the risks arising from the rapid growth of easy access to legal sports wagering. This panel will be moderated by Shelley Smith, the former City Solicitor for the City of Philadelphia and experienced trial lawyer. She will guide discussion among the panelists that include a veteran media professional, college athletic director, college professor and best-selling author on the NBA betting scandal, and an experienced labor and employment attorney.
